Chase Mortgage Modification

If you are finding it tough to continue with unaffordable home mortgage payments, you may actually qualify for a Chase mortgage modification to avoid losing your house. With the subsidized mortgage plans offered by President Obama and the Treasury Department, millions of Americans receives a bailout from facing home foreclosure.

Chase Bank has put together a new mortgage loan modification package for an expected 400,000 families that are at risk for home foreclosure. Every modification loan application will be reviewed case by case on the following aspects: modify the loans of delinquent borrowers, assign financial counselors to advise delinquent borrowers with proper financial advice and guide to get out of debt, withhold foreclosure until the application review is completed.

Do not let your house be lost due to foreclosure through your own negligence by sitting on the decision to apply for loan modification or not. You have nothing to lose by reading the online reviews and testimonials from homeowners that have been granted the Chase mortgage modification loan.

Chase Bank Home Loan Modification

The first thing to check is whether you qualify for a Chase Bank Home Loan Modification or not. There are certain criteria to be met before you can apply for this loan workout which reduces your home mortgage payments to only 31% of gross monthly income. If you understand these criteria, you can improve your chances of getting the Chase modification.

Obama Mortgage Bailout Via Chase Bank Mortgage Modifications

Take note of the requirements of the Obama mortgage bailout before you go and apply for the new loan. Firstly, the loan officer will check if you are really in financial hardship where you are currently unable to afford further mortgage payments which can be due to wage cuts, medical bills, divorce settlements, other debts to service etc and unable to get any other bad credit refinancing options. Chase Mortgage will check your income statements to make sure you can afford to service the new modified loan payments.

Only home mortgages that were originated before January 1, 2009 and below $729,750 can be considered for a Chase modification loan. Finally, you can check whether Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae insures your home loan by checking with Chase on the loan insurer. If it is, then chances of you being eligible for President Obama's $75 Billion Homeowner Stability Initiative to Prevent Foreclosures is much higher. You can increase chances of a Chase mortgage modification loan as long as you show them the above three requirements are met by your case. Do it right and you can avoid repeated use of fast cash online loans to get you through every month. They may contact you for verification, so make sure you remember what you wrote so that the statements tally or your application may be rejected.

Chase In-House Program For Mortgage Loan Modification

In the event that your mortgage loan is not insured by either Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae, you can still try because Chase Mortgage has an in-house program for loan modification with some additional requirements. Firstly, you must be the owner-occupant and holding a first mortgage that has never been modified or refinanced. The next requirement is a bit tougher and that is your modified home mortgage payments are between 31% to 40% of your gross monthly income. You must be able to prove that you can afford this minimum modified mortgage loan payment even though it is higher than the Treasury Department financed Home Stability Initiative.

This Obama mortgage bailout can help many qualified homeowners in avoiding to file bankruptcy, have an easier time repaying their debts, stop home foreclosure etc. For further help on how to qualify for a Chase mortgage modification, you can visit the many Chase modification loans websites and download the applications forms. There are many homeowners sharing their experience and tips on getting that loan approval.

You have to keep calling the sob's.they have more questions than a bank.oh they are a bank.right.I've been at it since Dec 08.Send this send that. The only way they called me was when I stopped sending money. They don't seem to helping me,in fact it's almost like they want me to fail since I do have equity!!!

We have been trying for a Chase Modification for nearly 2 years with little or no REAL results. After our 4th failed application with them, we opted to hire a Law Firm out of Orlando, almost a year later..still nothing. We have been on a 3 Month Trial Period for 8 months and are about ready just to give up (which is what we now believe, is what they really want!) We started in April 08.

Suzanne 2 years ago

Terrible! I have called and called and they finally said I made too much money for a modification, no letter nothing

I make 32,000 a year Too much money ha!!!!!!!

carol 2 years ago

we also applied in March, I called every tuesday, were told last week in order to qualify you need to be 34% poverty level--ours wasn't low enough, I guess food isn't a necessity---------------turned down after 10 months

The Obama administration should ban ALL the big Banks from doing any new Mortgage business until they step up and get it right.

I qualified for a Chase Trial modification in Sept 09 and they reduced my rate to 2% and said that the past late fees would be waived. They set up a auto payment from my checking account and made 3 payments in October, November and December. On December 9 I got a Intent to foreclose letter because they said that I have not been making a full payment and they want all past due including late fees. They said the first trial modification would not count and we would need to requailify and start a new one with an increase in the payment. Chase is a fraud! They have no intention of modifying loans, it is a scam.

I was sent a packet after going through their three month trial period with fice months payments asking me to sign and returned as I qualified for the modification of my mortgage, reading through the information Made me decide to call and ask them if they really wanted to modify my loan as they had increase the total owed by $20,000, asking for payment in total of $140.000 on a house that now had a value of about $56.000, I was told by the person that I talked with that that was how it was and did I want to decline the modification, I told him he had already declined it by his or his companies refusal to come to a basic understanding.

Now they will foreclose and get nothing, makes big business sence for them, they already got the bale out.

Mya 2 years ago

We also qualified for a trial modification for 3 months in Nov with trial mortgage payments $100 less than what we were originally paying per month and then they sent us another packet and asked us to submit same documents we submitted before and renewed the trial period for another 3 months which ended this March. Last week we received a letter from Chase that they reached a decision that they are denying our loan modification application and that all trial payments we made for the last couple of months will be deducted from our original loan and that our monthly payments will revert back to original mortgage payments. And this is what they call helping us? What a scam. They make us believe they were there to help us and then they dropped us like a hot potato.

We applied for modifacation in April of last year the put us on a forebearance agreement for four months. We made all of our payments since June. Januarary we get a letter that says they denied or modifacation because of lack of income, and that we could reapply if our situation changed we countinued making paymnets on time. Tuesday my wife gets a call informing us that there is a foreclosure sale date of April 14, 2010. They also told her that our payments had been used to cover back past due payment. We also have a lot of equity.

Jared 2 years ago

I was approved for the final modifaction. All terms were changed, new payment was invoiced and paid for 2 months. 4 months after the the final approval, system update, and terms changed. They suddenly without notice reverted the loan to before the modification with a past due balance of 8k. All payments made were also reversed. I called, they said this is "routine maintenence, it appears you have a surplus in your escrow account, and this is how they can release those funds". 2 months and counting, nothing has changed!

I have requested loan modifications twice and have been turned down by chase. It seems that they really don't care about the homeowners and all they do is play games with your emotions. Is there anybody out there in ChaseLand that has a heart? Where are these 400,000 homeowners that you claim to be helping out...I certainly don't see or hear about them.

Tina 2 years ago

I just got final modification papers and have signed them and sent them back and then got a letter of intent to foreclose 2 days later. I have called and asked about this and have been reassured twice that all is well and to disregard. I was also told it will take 60 to 90 days to get my copy of the modification papers with a bank signature. I won't relax until I have something in my hand. I am over 100,000 upside down, it is in their best intrest to modify. I hope I can relax.

Tara 2 years ago

I requested a modification with Chase. I have waited since November 2009 to finally find out in April 2010, that Chase denied my modification because I have an FHA loan. I was advised by Chase that they do not have a work out plan with my leander (FHA) so they will not approve a modification. Chase advised that I can refi (I already tried but my $141,000 I owe on a house now appraised for $112,000 cannot be refinanced) or forbearance. I contacted HUD and they advised Chase is incorrect. I now am going through the run around with Chase and many different departments to find out what to do next to re-open my file.

Mary 2 years ago

I, too applied for a Chase modification and was denied. I returned from the hospital on 3/15/2010 and found out my house was in foreclosure, even after I notified them I was having surgery and even faxed a letter telling them when I would be making the 2 trial payments left over. I am now reapplying and hoping to save my home. Chase, Umm, I don't know about them actually helping anyone. Just playing games with people's emotions. Who can help us Chase customers?

westminsterwebs 2 years ago

13+ months writing to Chase, sending documents and still NO word. Went into a Chase modification office 5 miles away from home to talk to someone behind a desk. He said as long as we were paying, Chase has no incentive of helping us. Basically, if we can afford to pay, even though we are using ALL our savings and taking out loans, WE DON"T COUNT. Now we are behind and he tells us to resubmit everything ALL OVER again. What?! What happened to all the documents and verification already sent to Chase. Yup, Chase does not want to help homeowners. I hate Chase-- they should spend money on helping homeowners stay in their homes so that we can stabalize the economy!

Holly 2 years ago

About 2 years ago I applied for a loan mod with Chase. I have made all payments without delay since then. However, 23 months later we still don't have a 'deal'. So I complained to HUD and discovered that Chase actually REALLY foreclosed on my home and the redemption period passed in JULY O9, yes it is now MAY 10. HUD referred me to the US Attorney and the Office of Controller of Currencies. They ALL three advise that Chase has no rights to continue to try to modify this loan, by operation of law my home is gone, and my money counted for nothing. I didn't realize Tony Soparno was employeed as a Chase loss mitigation officer.

Lisa Nelson 2 years ago

We've been through the same crazy process since 7/09 submitting, resubmitting, calling, getting recordings that say "please hang up", being told we're denied, then having another rep. deny we were told we were denied. We were just told we were approved for a trial payment and to expect a fedex packet. It never came. Called about it and was told we were denied. Then got a collection call asking how we intended to make the 4 payments we're behind on. Let the rep. know we'd be happy to make a payment if they would work with us, one that reflects our qualification for a federal program based on a hardship. She then started all over again from square 1 gathering fin. info. from me. I asked her, "What are we doing?" She said that only last week Chase got a new software "decision-making tool" that makes a recommendation after all fin. info. is input. New consistency, expedition & no more underwriters. She said she was "100% on our side". Anyone else experienced this?

Yolanda 2 years ago

I applied for a loan modification about a year ago also. I had lost my job for two solid months and when I finally got a new job I was making exactly half what I made when I bought my home. I was single at the time. I have sent Chase all the documents that they asked for and called them way more than they ever called me. Of course at the time I could show hard-ship but didnt make enough according to them to make the trial payments eventhough I have done it for a year now. They told me I was denied but that they had other ways to "try" and get me qualified. Even when I didn't hear from them and my supposed 3 month trial was over, I would call and verify everything was OK. Since I was calling, all the agents were so nice and assured me everything was fine and to "just continue to make your trial payments." Now, on Friday I get a call that I owe over $5700.00 and would I like to set up that payment to be taken from my bank account they have on file. Chase Bank is a joke. Everyone here is right.... they do not intend to help anyone. Before I could call the bank 4 times a day to inquire about my modification and get a different answer every time. I swear the right hand had no idea what the left had was doing. Now, everyone I call is rude and says "sorry, you have to come up with the money or we will foreclose." Sorry? What happened is that I got married in December. My husband lost his job in October and did not find work until March. He had no job for 5 solid months but now that I am reporting his income, they want all the money eventhough I proved hardship all this time and according to them didnt even make enough to cover the modification payments. What a joke! They do not care that during this time I had to let my car go back because I couldn't afford both. I chose to live in my house... should have opted for the car!!!! Now, I am $1000.00 short of coming up with the money they want (and they only gave me 9 days to come up with this money) and that is only for the June 2010 pmt. I will still owe more than twice the modification amount for the next five months if I want to "ACCEPT THIS GREAT DEAL THEY ARE OFFERING ME!!!!" Seriously.... who is out there to help us? Is anybody listening? Its amazing.... people will go to different countries to help others in need.... What about staying right here for us?

Daniel 23 months ago

We've had the same experience as Lisa Nelson... been trying for a modification since October. The person I spoke with at that point was rude and gathered my financial information. Was set up on a three month trial payment plan and told I would receive a letter from Chase before the end of the trial letting me know if I was approved or not. After 3 months went by and no response, I called. Was transferred and transferred and then transferred to the department I "needed" and was greeted with the message "We are experiencing a problem. Please hang up". Finally got through to someone and was told we did not fill out proper paperwork. Filled out more paperwork than I did for the mortgage... faxed it in. Called each month. Answer always the same.... "We're sorry.. it has not been assigned to an underwriter... but I am going to put in to have this expedited. Call back in two weeks". 3 months later we are told we were denied because of failure to make our trial payments? WHAT??? Our trial ended three months ago. Was then told a new process is in place... we now use a new decision making tool and should have an answer within 48 hours of receiving my application. Filled out paperwork again. Faxed in all forms... waited three days... called back in.... "please hang up"... called back again, transferred 3 times, then told "Please call back in a week to check status again..." ..???? What happened to the new decision making software 3 day decision?? I think Chase is milking you for as many payments as they can get until they get around to foreclosing the property. Just my humble opinion.

Chase is a fraud--WHERE ARE ALL THE CLASS ACTION ATTORNEYS WHEN YOU NEED THEM---It just seems too easy a case.I was denied after being told to make a trial payment--I made 6 in a row!! Then of course was denied--they said I didn't qualify due to income, I retried with additional income then was denied because I have equity--(my house has been listed for sale for 4 months and hasnt sold).PLEASE, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP US!!

jram 23 months ago

The Obama administration really needs to look into the banking institutions, especially Chase, that claim they assist homeowners with modification options. I have never met anyone who has had a positive home modification experience. I have never met anyone who has actually had a modification. My experience is very similar to others posted here.I've been working with Chase since November 2008 when I lost my home. It's now July 2010 and we are still in the process/trial period. Chase has requested documentations, we send them. Then they turn around and as for the same thing all over again. Almost seems like they've set up the process to frustrate homeowners. Also, when we first applied for a modification, due to loss of income in 2008, no one at Chase told us that the modification would show up on our credit report and will affect our credit. Now our credit report reflects that we have missed mortgage payments, although we have never missed a payment and the reduced payments we currently pay are due to the trial period agreement approved by Chase. As a result, no one will give us a loan, not even a small loan. How redicuous is this. Shame on Chase.

i have been trying for a modification with chase since early 2006 they are still collecting and still putting me of

I went through the same things as all the people mentioned above. The hang ups. RUDE customer service, a thousand different LIES about the status of my modification, increased payments and I wasn't even behind on my mortgage! They continually request the same documents over and over again, and then try to get out of the modification program, its the same treatments, hundreds of letters, hours on the phone, getting hung up on and never talking to anyone in charge. It a huge scam and they need to be sued!

i did a loan mod 7 months ago was told everyhing is all set but now iam looking for somewere to live with my faimly because they are going back on there end of the deal must be nice to get 7500 from me and then say sorry your still going to foreclose anyway big scam save your money and find a new place to say it sucks but it is better than them ripping more prople off

My husband and I started a Loan mod with chase feb 0f 08. They finally finished everything almost two years later after sending paper work over and over again. It was not even worth our time because our payment is only 20 dollars cheaper than when we started. All this hassle to save 20 dollars a month. I thought the modification was suppose to lower the payment so the homeowners can afford it. Chase is a complete joke.....you cant trust anything they tell you.

M Johnson 22 months ago

Yes I've been going through this modification mess for a year and a half now and the same thing ... they keep trying to kick you out for anything they can think of and they want me to fill out the paperwork AGAIN for the 4th time. We all need to file a class action lawsuit immediately.

Ive been working with Chase for over a year now and having to resend my financial information over and over to some minimum wage worker on the other side. I finally got approved of a trial payment plan which was $400 more than my mortgage payment. When I asked why the hike..they responded with I really dont know and you are not permitted to communicate with the negotiator. What a scam Chase Bank is. Im pulling my checking accts and moving on

Did loan mod app in May 2009 got my dics in Aug 2009 aent in 1st payment and notarized docs same day. Made payments from Aug09-April 2010 when we got served a notice to Evict from Federal Home Mortgage (Fanny Mae) So we stopped making payments and got a lawyer. So Chase did a loan Modification and collected money from us for almost a year...but they also foreclosed and sold my home in July 09 one month prior to sending me docs and collecting money from me.... We called Chase and they sent us a copy of all our payments and told us there must me a mistake, but now I get nothing from Chase no more mortgage statements no late notices no nothing. We did get a check yesterday for 16.00 for a FEE that we didn't need to pay..until I can come up with 5,000 retainer fee we just sit here.. when I can I'm gonna sue them and hopefully it will be soon.

Was told we prequalified for re-finance. Chase collected $395 application fee. Appraiser came and appraised our house for $40,000 less than our appraisal 3 years ago. Received ding letter two weeks letter. Very unhappy.

Chase is a scam, I have done everything by the book and they give a million different reasons to deny us. We should totally qualify, I am begging the President to look at my packet, I have logged all phone calls and paperwork and want to show Obama what Chase is doing with the 75 Billion dollars he has given Big Banks for his Home Loan Modification program. I will never give Chase another dime, they can take my house, car and credit card with them and shove it. Any attorneys want a good class action lawsuit, I have the proof that will show how they are manipulating the system and America needs to know.

Jennifer 21 months ago

We financed 100% of our home when we purchased. Chase picked up both the first and second mortgage. When I lost my job and had to stop paying, chase decided we could apply for a modification. We were on our 7th month of the 3 month trial modification when we were approved. What were we approved for? $500 more than are original loan and extended to 40 years. When we were actually able to speak to someone, I asked how we were suppose to pay that as well as our second and still provide for our children. The idiot didn't even know we had a second even though it was with chase. Don't even get me started on the second. They charged it off while we were still making trial modification payments! They said we'd have to wait and see if they can bring it back in house and than re-apply for another modification. Chase is earning money from the government by claiming to approve modifications...what a scam.

Lori 21 months ago

Reading all of this breaks my heart, but makes me feel in good company. I lost my job back in December. We immediately called Chase - what can we do? They told us about the HAMP program, we immediately applied. Week after week after week, we called. We were told to call every week, everytime talking to another idiot who had no idea which way was up. we were told something different by each person. I have dates, names of everyone we have ever talked to, what they said, etc. After 8 months of calls, frustration, etc., we had to reapply 4 times because Chase either kept losing our paperwork or it "expired" and we had to reapply. we called senators, congressmen, etc. Finally, we got a relationship manager. Yeah, well this week we got the "modification" paperwork - we would save less than $100 a month. Really? It cost me more than that to copy, UPS paperwork, etc. Really? What a slap in the face. We don't know what we are going to do.

As to the person above who reminds all of us it's not the bank's job to fix our mess, the banks were given OUR OWN taxpayer money to help people like this. The time and energy you put into dealing with these idiots, to get this slap in the face, and then lose your home anyway? The lower middle class has no prayer in this country. None It's pathetic. Shame on Chase. Don't know what we can do. I guess if they want the house, it's theirs.

maria 20 months ago

All of the other banks either modified their customers directly, or worked with NACA (neighborhood assistance corp. of america) with their home save program. CHASE bank was the only one who refused to participate with NACA. I am just sick and tired of Chase giving us the run a round. A year later, and this is just depressing. What do you tell your kids when you can't keep a roof over their heads?

elmo 20 months ago

A class action suit was filed in San Luis Obispo California in May of this year against Chase for several causes of action...breach of contract, promissory estoppell, CCC 17200 breach. It is at the amended complaint stage, and has not yet been certified as a class action. That will occur before the end of the year, hopefully. A lawsuit takes almost as long as a Chase modification.

It is obvious that Chase figured out that the bank could make more money if it issued quick temporary loan modifications, filed notice of defaults, and then collected the temporary payments until the statutory period ran between the NOD and the filing of Notice of Trustee Sale. Chase gets the homeowners payments and some small payments from the government for starting the loan modification. If they didn't do a "trial mod", people wouldn't pay waiting for a foreclosure, right? They didn't get to be Chase by being stupid or trying to help people.

Laura 20 months ago

I've been fighting for my loan modification since March 2009 and it's been nothing shy of a nightmare. They miscalculate my salary by about $20K and claimed I made too much, then after all this time, I finally received an approval for a 3 month trial loan mod, which the monthly payments are MORE than my original home mortgage loan. So, HOW is this possibly supposed to help homeowners?? Clearly Chase has found a loop hole to appear to follow the guidelines without actually helping anybody. I plan on doing a short sale in a few months.

Tony 20 months ago

Yep, this is all familiar. I received a phone solicitation about refi on my house and I pre-qualified. Chase offered me 5%. I sent my financial information and gave a credit card for $395. They charged $395 for home appraisal, but denied the loan before the appraiser came out.

I feel like an idiot for being scammed by Chase. I'm very disappointed that they sold me on their program, and then turned around and denied the loan. Why prequalify if they're going to deny it later. That's $395 down the drain.

Charlie 20 months ago

I applied for a home loan modification with Washington Mutual

and was told my credit was to good and since I wasn't late

with my payments I would not qualify.

I tried it with the reason of imminent foreclosure which

was fully documented. A year later, after Chase bought out

WaMu I talked with the Chase personnel and they told me

I would have to screw up my credit if I wanted to pursue

a loan modification. The government hot line told me the

same thing. I told them I thought that was unethical and

they said there was nothing more they could do for me until

I followed their advice.

Now, I am ready to try again. This totally stress me out

and the government has done very little to help.

Wow...I am sure that there are a thousand other stories not posted here....I have been trying to get a loan modification for my mother since July...everytime I send paperwork in,I call, and they want something else or what THEY told me to do was not the right thing and I have to send more or corrected paperwork in.Im in over $70 in overnight packages and faxes, and now they have threatened to close the file AGAIN,cause what THEY told me to send last Tuesday is unacceptable now. When we started this we were two payments behind, now we are 4 cause I was told not to make another payment cause I would be set up for trial payments. Oh and my mom works one day a week at the library at our school...but they didnt like the way the school did the paystubs,so they were unacceptable, then I got a letter from the school as well as her 1099 from last year, but those are unacceptable too...can you imagine,I really dont know what they want but everyday its something different.Who can help us?? I cant have this poor 80 year old woman loose her home!!!!!

My husband lost his job over a year ago. We used all of his 401k and now have stopped paying our mortgage payments since we have a 1st with chase and a 2nd with e trade and a home equity loan I can see no way to pay and the loan mod is a joke! They call several times a day and it doesn't do any good cause we don't have the money to pay! We bought our home in 2001 and it kills us to know we will lose it. This was suppose to be our dream/retirement home. We tried to sell it but we owe more than anyone was willing to pay. Tried sending in half a payment and chase sent it back. After reading all the comments on how the loan mod doesn't work Guess we just will let them have the house....Let them try to sell it in this market! No one is buying anything too afraid of getting burned!

Tina 19 months ago

After 2 years of calling every week and doing 3 different pre-qualification payment plans I finally just signed my permanant modification at a 2% rate for 5 yrs with a max of 4.5% after 8. They tacked on all the missed payments and interest to the back end of some 18K. It took me calling every week and resending in the same paperwork and check stubs and statements every 30 days. One dept doesnt know what the other is doing and made sure to deal with only the modification dept. I paid the 3 mo temporary pmt plan for over a year! Keep at it and be persistent there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. I didn't qualify for the Obama plan...thats a big scam. i got one from Chase and Fanny Mae. I have 3 fedex envelopes loaded with papers and notes from 2 years of work on this. Good Luck and stay on the path!

I have been working on a loan modification for 14 months. They told me I did not make enought to qualify and to get a 2nd job of $1,000. I got the 2nd job for over a year at $1,000 month and I just got refused for making too much. They tell me i do not qualify for HAMP loans. The house is under the water by $200,000.

deb 19 months ago

i have been fighting with chase for almost two years. they tried to deny me, i downloaded requirements faxed over what i knew they were wrong, ask for things under truth and lending act, called at least three times a week, actually have gotten to people more that once a few times and they remembered me. my brother abandoned property and i got divorced, working trying to save for myself and my daughter, friday night i finally recieved final documents which are affordable, i still do not feel safe yet but better, i think with the pressure on there will be more to come, i am under hamp not chase which takes a little more and if all payments are on time applies it to principle. hang in there, be persistent and you have to be working, you cant keep a house without income.

Laurie 18 months ago

We were refused for the 4th time. I was told that we needed to make 6600 a month to qualify for a chase modification and 8800 a month to qualify for a Freddie Mac. We are trying again. I don't think they have any intention of helping anyone. Just stringing us along and Obama's administration (whom I thought was going to help us) seem to be turning a blind eye to what is going on. I am totally disappointed in the whole mess.

We have been working on a Modification since Dec 08'... we have been on several Forbearance programs... trial periods... been told 4-5 times we would have our final MOD Docs in the mail...for the last year I have been trying to get a so called "Relationship Manager" to get to my final docs... only to find out I was some how denied because my information/application was outdated and that I needed to update and start over... re-apply. I have had people on the phone give me my new modified payment amount and tell me it was done... just sign the paperwork... never happens.... when you call back the person on the phone has no idea what your talking about... My trial payment was $1000 more a month than my original payment... that makes sense! They are beyond a joke... I'm at the give up point.... I can make payments and they don't care... bu what the heck... my house is worth $140,000 less than what I owe on it at this point... pathetic company Chase is!

I helped my parents get started on a loan modification. They are now on a Trial Period Plan with their Bank. I suggest you send all the paperwork via CERTIFIED MAIL to create a paper trail as well as writing a thorough explanation as to why you are requesting the loan mod.

I gave up after they changed the rules. They can have my condo worth $40,000 when I owe $140,000. Don't let them scam you into doing trial payments.....they mean nothing.......99% chance you'll get denied and then you owe them all the back amounts. Don't do it!!!

What a cluster 17 months ago

The people in customer service cant tell you anything. They send you to someone else who is 90% of the time the wrong person. You can never talk to the underwriter. They just keep trying to get you to send in paperwork over and over again and tell you not to make payments.. Then at the end of it, they come back and tell you, you make too much money and force you into a repayment plan paying almost 3 times your original mortgage payment. I have paid that amount to the penny each month, then they mistakenly apply a payment to the wrong place and send me a letter of acceleration warning (intent to forclose) Read between the lines.. if you have a lot of equity in your home, they are going to make it as hard as possible hoping you will give up your greatest assett. What crooks... I have only 2 payments left to catch up to a normal payment and they sent someone out sniffing around like a vulture. 2 more payments to get out of this nightmare. You can bet I will have every penny.. dont forget over $1000 in late payment fees

I finally got APPROVED from chase for a final modification. I started the process in July 2009. My local bank rep told me to send my paycheck stub every week so my file was always updated with the most current info. I faxed all required docs initially to get the trial started. Once in the three month trial period, I did fax our paycheck stubs every week. I had a long process with some real "winners" at the customer service dept. I tried to keep my cool and I was transferred to this person and to that person. I even had to beg them one time to take my payment because each person I spoke with told me they couldn't take the payment in that dept! I have finally, like I said, received the signed final modification papers back from chase. It is official. They lowered our interest rate to 2% for the 1st 5 years. From year 6-8 the rate will slowly increase and max out at 4.75%. Year 8-32 our rate will only be 4.75% if its even that much. Don't give up!! they are willing to help but you have to be persistent. The best part is we do not have to pay our mortgage until March!! we can finally catch up...

We have applied for a load modification thru WAMU back in July of 2009. After Chase took over, we have been thru hell and back with faxing and mailing the same paperwork repeatedly, receiving and making hundreds of telephone calls only to find out last Friday, we have been denied. We were told we are not eligible for any other Chase modification programs and have 30 days to contact the bank to find out the details behind the denial. We were also informed that we have 3 options: 1. pay all outstanding arrears ($60,000), 2. conduct a short sale or 3. foreclosed. We do not want to lose our home and we do not have $60,000 to pay. Anyone has any idea or advice on what shall we do? Also, we own another home in Fl, can Chase put a lien against that house? Please help! Thanks

They don't need to be sued - they need to be jailed. This is truly corruption at its worst. The big banks, B of A, Chase, and Wells Fargo are all pulling the same scam. They are getting rich "managing" these accounts, while the investors in the mortgage backed securities are getting killed, and their so called customers are being thrown in the streets. The banks have a free hand, since the bank "regulators" are obviously in their pockets. The thing that really perplexies me, is why the American people are not marching in the streets with torches. This is doing severe, long term, damage to our economy. The financial system has proven itself to be untrustworthy, and the governmental agencies that are supposed to be regulating them, corrupt. I will never put myself at risk with such crooks again, and when enough people lose faith in our institutions, they will collapse.

We have been dealing with these same issues with chase for going on 2 years. We have done at least 9 modification applications. From August to Dec 2010 we were told our application was in underwriting, then all of a sudden in Dec our file has dissappeared into thin air. Contacted the executive department and actually talked to the same person twice was told exactly how to re-apply again, now denied because income is to much. OK,could they not have told me that 15 months ago when i could have borrowed the money that I owed at that time from a bank and solved the problem.Instead I listen to the reps from Chase who say while you are waiting to be approved do not send money until you are set on a trial plan. I cannot figure out if they are trying to defraud you or if the 75 different people I have spoken with over the last 15 months have any idea what is going on ,they seem very unorganized and incompetent I called 10 times last week to find out exactly the amount of money that was needed to bring the ACCOUNT CURRENT,Believe it or not no one could tell me,then I was told there had to be requisition for that info and that it could only be mailed. Now I have arranged to borrow 20000 from family to stay in our house ,but who is to say they will not pull some crap and still try to foreclose.So..before I submit this money I will have a lawyer contact them next week. I do not think any of their modification programs even exist,it id just away to cause people to fall further behind.

I am a widow, I was told I qualified for the Home Modification Program, did everything they asked, and then they told me I didnt make enough money, Duh, why do you think I asked for the Make Home Affordable, got ready to move, and got a letter today asking me to fill out the Make Home Affordable packet AGAIN...God help us all that dealt with wamu and Chase, (should take the capital off of chase)
